Crochet a Mouse Cat Toy

This simple cat toy is super-easy to crochet.  I recently made one for my 14-year-old granddaughter to use with her three cats, and she was delighted.  She actually broke a smile when she saw it.  The kitties were interested, too, as she pulled it across the floor, and especially liked watching it jump around across the rug.  The pattern requires just a small amount of yard, so you can use up some of your remnants.

materials
●G crochet hook
●worsted weight/4-ply yarn
●polyester fiber fill (or cotton balls, or kitty fur)
●catnip and/or bell(s), optional
●yarn needle for weaving in ends

Fold circle in half, sc the edges together.  At one-third point, make ears.

ears
Ch 3, sc in each of the 3 ch, sl st to base, and continue sc to two-third point, stuff, and continue sc on to the end of the half circle.
tail
Continue with a ch 60 for tail, and end off by pulling yarn through last ch.  This tail is long enough to dangle it in front of your kitty. You can shorten the tail or eliminate it if you plan just to toss it to kitty.
