SuperSimple Recipes
Amazon Scones
From the recipe box of travel writer Carole Terwilliger Meyers.

I’ve tried many scone recipes and been quite disappointed with the results. I heard recently that this scone mix, available on Amazon, was easy to prepare and turned out splendidly. When I discovered it is made in the U.S.A., I was skeptical but thought I’d give it a try and was delighted with the outcome. From now on I plan to keep a box of the mix in my cupboard. I also purchased the Morello cherry jam from Amazon. The jam description reminded me of some gorgeous and delicious, big, dark-red Morello cherries that I once bought at a street market in Paris. This jam is made in England and packed with whole cherries and did not disappoint. I will be keeping it in my cupboard as well.
1 package Garvey’s Downton Abbey Traditional Organic Scone Mix
You’ll need to add:
½ stick (2 oz.) butter and
½ cup milk (any kind will do, but I prefer buttermilk)
I like to keep clean-up to a minimum by wearing single-use gloves to do the mixing and patting. Also, I like taller scones, so I pat the rounds out to 3 1/2- to 4-inch circles.
Serve with:
butter and
a jar of Wilkin & Sons Ltd. Tiptree Morello Cherry Preserve
or
homemade Lemon Curd
Note: When you click through and purchase either of these items from Amazon, I actually make a few pennies! I do hope you enjoy these items as much as I do and order through this link again.
