Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies
From the recipe box of travel writer Carole Terwilliger Meyers.
Try some variations:
●colorful M&Ms (mini M&Ms were used in cookies depicted)
●white chocolate chips with macadamia nuts
●milk chocolate chips with pecans (my personal favorite)
And don’t forget to stock up on milk!
½ cup butter (1 stick), soft
½ cup brown sugar, packed
¼ cup white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
¾ cup flour
1¼ cup oats (regular or quick)
½ tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt (optional)
Mix in well.
½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
½ cup walnuts, chopped
Stir in. Place a heaping tablespoon of dough on a buttered cookie sheet. Place one cookie sheet in the oven at a time.
350 degrees, 10-12 minutes.
Makes 24 cookies.
